Here we are back again in 2016 starting out our coverage of the year with Spring Fever which was a part of Motorama Custom car & Motorsports expo. This year the event finally got a new name and a new hall, justice done to the import enthusiasts who are unique to the custom hot rod and motorsports crowd. The addition of a Best of show 1000 dollar purse and a 2nd place Best of show 500 dollar purse were unique as not many events these days actually offer monetary awards for competing. I was honored to be invited to be a part of a special event called SPRING FEVER, which was held part of the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo at the at the International Center in Mississauga. I was asked by Kristine Danton, a long time show organizer and promoter, to be on staff and help out with the music and promotional aspects of the section. Since I love to DJ and love our scene I was extatic at such an opportunity. A lot of time was put in by Kris and her staff to make sure everyone was accommodated for this event, a job well done! There were many competition classes which made it exciting and fair to the competitors. In addition everyone walked out with a participation plaque that they could keep as a momento. I was also honored to be asked to design the plaques for this event, I hope people liked them. Many vendors were present and included, CJR performance who are known to be the domestic MOPAR gurus, Shinzo Media who supply many of the jdm stickers in the scene, Got ASS, Sic Ride etc. Some of the memorable car show teams that were present such; Nokturnal, Next Level, Squeakyclean Lowlifes, Club Lexus, Elevated, Team Mazyn, On Point crew, 905 Rides, and others deserve special mention. Thank you for your support of the event. Without you there would be no events such as these and no scene as we know it. Finally the event had a special guest, Vince Vaitiekunas was showcasing his documentary “Built not Bought” a feature length documentary highlighting Canadian JDM car culture. It showcases interviews on location throughout Ontario and insights from British Columbia to Quebec. Its a unique film because its dedicated to our Canadian scene. Congratulations to all the winners and spectators and we will see you all in 2017.
